Chris Pine and Patty Jenkins Reteam for TNT Miniseries

The real Justice League is going to be reuniting very soon. TNT announced at the Television Critics Association Press Tour that Wonder Woman’s Chris Pine is set to star in a six-episode miniseries with WW director Patty Jenkins helming the pilot.

The series, One Day She’ll Darken, tells the true story of Fauna Hodel, who is given away by her teenager mother to a black restroom attendant in a Nevada casino in 1949. Now she’s investigating her past, which leads back to a Hollywood gynecologist involved in some dark business including, but not limited to, the infamous Elizabeth Short murder.

While Pine playing a crazy gynecologist sounds amazing, he’s playing Jay Singletary, a former Marine who’s currently a paparazzo. He was disgraced for a story about the gynecologist years prior, but now sees a time to shine.

Jenkins could potentially direct more episodes, but is now only directing the pilot. Her husband, author Sam Sheridan, is writing the series. The series is based on One Day She’ll Darken: The Mysterious Beginnings of Fauna Hodel, which is Hodel’s autobiography.

A release date is unknown at this time. Pine is about to begin filming Outlaw King for Netflix, if websites like Variety and Deadline are to be believed, and Jenkins is currently co-writing the Wonder Woman 2 treatment.

Wonder Woman is currently in theaters and has grossed over $780.2 million worldwide, making it the 70th highest grossing movie ever made. It’s the biggest hit for both Pine and Jenkins.
