In recent news it has been confirmed that Jamie Foxx will be playing the character of Electro in the upcoming 2014 release of the Amazing Spider-man 2. Electro has been a long time nemesis of Spider-man in the comics and first appeared in the Amazing Spider-man #9 in 1964.
Jamie Foxx will join other newly cast members to the franchise such as Dane DeHaan who is set to play Harry Osborn and Shailene Woodley who will be playing Mary Jane Watson. DeHaan is best known for his work in “Chronicle” (2012) and Woodley has been seen in “The secret of life of the American teenager” and the “Descendants” 2011.
It should be interesting to see how the cast mixes as they join returning members Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone for the 2014 film.
