Blu-ray Movie Releases: 4/28/13 – 5/4/13

This week on Blu-ray: Australians net no new movie Blu-rays while Americans get three. Wonder who wins this week.

AMERICAN RELEASES

Broken City comes to Blu-ray this week.  The Mark Wahlberg action film was a box office failure with just $19.7 million made domestically on a budget of $35 million. There doesn’t appear to be any special retailer deals for Broken City. The Blu-ray comes with a DVD and Ultraviolet copy.

You, in my eyes, failure.

The Guilt Trip arrives on Blu-ray this week. The Seth Rogen and Barbara Streisand comedy was barely a success making $41 million on a budget of $40 million. There are no retailer exclusives for Guilt Trip. The Blu-ray comes with a DVD and Digital Copy.

Finally, Oscar winner Silver Linings Playbook comes to Blu-ray this week. The Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence comedy was a big success with a $21 million budget and over $232.5 million worldwide (and still counting). Once again, there are no new retailer deals for Silver Linings which comes with a DVD and Ultraviolet copy. I loved Silver Linings Playbook and you can read my full review of the film here.

That’s it for this week. It’s going to be a tough one as both parties put up a pretty good fight. Australia tried hard while America was just slacking this week. But Australia was knocked out and America took home the trophy

WINNER: AMERICA

TALLIES FOR THE YEAR: AUSTRALIA (1) AMERICA (1)
