Blu-ray Releases: 12/1/13 – 12/7/13

This week on Blu-ray: Australia gets two titles while America gets three. Who has the better blues? Let’s find out:

AUSTRALIAN RELEASES

The Croods finally comes to Blu-ray in Australia after coming out in America back in October. The DreamWorks’ Animation had a $135 million budget and currently has $587.2 million worldwide making the film a box office success. Two Blu-rays are available: one with a DVD and Ultraviolet and another with a 3D Blu-ray and DVD.

The World’s End ends its run on Blu-ray for Australia. The Simon Pegg-Nick Frost Comedy had a $20 million budget and currently has $46 million in the box office making the film a box office success. The Blu-ray comes with an Ultraviolet copy. We absolutely loved The World’s End in theaters. Check that review out right here.

AMERICAN RELEASES

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones comes to Blu-ray this week. The Fantasy Drama had a $60 million budget and only made $80.1 million in the box office making the film only a mild box office success. The Blu-ray comes with a DVD and Ultraviolet copy.

The Smurfs 2 smurfs up Blu-ray this week. The Family Comedy had a $105 million budget and currently has $347.4 million worldwide making the film a box office success. Two Blu-rays are available: one with a 3D, DVD, and Ultraviolet and another with just the DVD and Ultraviolet copies.

The Wolverine comes out on Blu-ray this week. The Hugh Jackman Action film had a $120 million budget and currently has $414.8 million in the box office making The Wolverine a box office success. Two Blu-rays are available: one with a 3D, DVD, and Ultraviolet and another with just the DVD and Ultraviolet copies. That’s it for this week. Australia’s films average out on Rotten Tomatoes to a 79% while America’s films average out to a 31% making Australia the clear winner. The highest rated film was Australia’s The World’s End with an 89% while the lowest was America’s The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones with a 12%. Do you plan on picking up any of these titles?
