Blu-ray Releases: 4/27/14 – 5/3/14

This week on Blu-ray: Australia has two new releases while America has three. Who has the best titles though? Let’s find out:

AUSTRALIAN RELEASES

Frozen freezes up Blu-ray shelves this week. The Disney animation had a $150 million budget and currently has $1.1 billion worldwide. Two Blu-rays are available: one with a 3D copy and one without, but both come with digital copies.

Philomena will warm your hearts when it comes to Blu-ray this week. The Steve Coogan-Judi Dench drama had a $12 million budget and currently has $100 million worldwide. AMERICAN RELEASES

Devil’s Due is due out on Blu-ray this week. The horror flick had a $7 million budget and made $32.7 million worldwide. The Blu-ray comes with a DVD, digital, and Ultraviolet copy.

Labor Day comes to Blu-ray this week. The Kate Winslet-Josh Brolin drama had an $18 million budget and only made $14.4 million worldwide. The Blu-ray comes with a DVD and an Ultraviolet copy.

The Legend of Hercules comes to Blu-ray this week. The action adventure flick had a $70 million budget and only made $44.4 million worldwide. The Blu-ray comes with a 3D, DVD, Digital, and Ultraviolet copy.

That’s it for this week on Blu-ray. According to Rotten Tomatoes, Australia’s films average out to 90% while America’s films average out to 18% making Australia the winner this week. The highest rated film was Australia’s Philomena with a “Certified Fresh” 92% while the lowest was America’s The Legend of Hercules with 3%. Do you plan on picking up any of these titles?
