This week on Blu-ray: Australia nets one lone release while America gets four newcomers and a re-release. Step it up Aussies!
AUSTRALIAN RELEASES
Jack Reacher comes to Blu-ray this week. The Tom Cruise Crime Drama was a box office success with a $60 million budget and making $216.5 million worldwide. It’s also available on both digital or DVD copies as well.
AMERICAN RELEASES
Beautiful Creatures comes to Blu-ray this week. The Drama disaster barely made over $60 million on a $60 million budget. A DVD and Ultraviolet copy are present.
The Last Stand comes to Blu-ray this week. This might be Arnold Schwarzengger’s Last Stand as the film only made $37.1 million on a budget of $45 million. You get a DVD and Ultraviolet copy with this Blu-ray pack.

Parker comes to Blu-ray this week. One of 2013’s first Action failures (Last Stand was the first), the film made $17.6 million on a budget of $35 million. An Ultraviolet copy comes in the Parker Blu-ray.
Side Effects comes to Blu-ray this week. Steven Soderbergh’s last film (yeah, right) made $32.1 million in the box office on an unknown budget. You get the whole nine yards here with a DVD, Digital, and Ultraviolet copy.
National Lampoon’s Vacation returns to Blu-ray after originally coming out on Blu-ray in 2010. The 30th Anniversary Blu-ray doesn’t appear to be anything special and could just be the studio trying to make some extra cash. The film made $61.3 million in its run which, aside from Jack Reacher, is more than all the rest of the films mentioned here made.

Even with four new releases, America had a Rotten Tomatoes average of 65% which almost lost to Australia who had 61% with one film. America won by a hair.
WINNER: AMERICA
TALLIES FOR THE YEAR: AUSTRALIA (2) AMERICA (3)
