“Captain Marvel” Getting “Guardians” and “Inside Out” Writers?

Could Marvel be getting “Guardians of the Galaxy” co-writer Nicole Perlman and “Inside Out” co-writer Meg LeFauve to write “Captain Marvel”?

A source has confirmed this news to Variety with The Hollywood Reporter adding that Kevin Feige liked their “separate takes” and combined them together to work on the film.

While Nicole Perlman’s screenplay is what gave Marvel the confidence for “Guardians of the Galaxy”, director/co-writer James Gunn has been open about how Perlman’s script was “pretty different” even going on to say, “But that’s how the WGA works. They like first writers an awful lot.” Still, Marvel clearly likes Perlman as she also performed uncredited work on the Thor script and wrote a treatment for a Black Widow movie that never happened. Marvel could be giving her a long overdue shot here.

Meanwhile, Marvel could have seen a little “Inside Out” thanks to Disney and had faith in LeFauve. “Inside Out” is her only screenwriting credit.

Carol Danvers is Captain Marvel, Air Force pilot turned superhero after an accident fused her DNA with alien DNA.

No director or star is currently attached for “Captain Marvel” which opens on November 2, 2018 in the United States.
