Cell 213 Review

There’s a lot of people out there who I know love to spend their Friday or Saturday night making their way through countless bad horror films and these people really enjoy doing this every so often. If you’re one of those people you can add Cell 213 to your list of bad films to watch during the week and you’ll probably have a lot of fun with it.

Cell 213 will be mildly entertaining for most sane people out there. I believe you really need to have an acquired taste for these types of things which I personally don’t have. As a horror film, Cell 213 does have a few scares put in for the audience, but I wouldn’t say that it’s the most scary thing out there for this genre by far.

The script and the characterisation is the worst part as no one really seemed likable. Most horror films at least make their characters likeable enough that you at least route for them to survive. However the lawyer in this film, Michael Grey, is kind of a jerk from the beginning until the end, which makes it hard to care about what’s going on.

Eric Balfour is Michael Grey | Cell 213 Review

Story aside I don’t really mind any of the actors, they don’t have much to work with and did well for the type of film that they were in. In terms of the directing, it’s a bit hit and miss here, I felt quite lost watching this film and didn’t find it to be an overly engaging experience.

I don’t like to spend too much time writing about a film I couldn’t get into as I don’t like criticizing someone’s hard work. Audiences should know going into Cell 213 that it’s a fairly low budget horror film that is really made with a specific audience in mind that likes these types of low budget horror films. It’s not for everyone and it’s not one I enjoy, but people out there do. So keep that in mind before you pay a few dollars to rent it out.
