Joel and Ethan Coen’s (Hail, Caesar!) upcoming TV miniseries will stream on Netflix.

The miniseries is a six-part western anthology titled The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. The Coen brothers will write, direct and serve as executive producers. Tim Blake Nelson (Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk) is starring as the title character. A rumor last month first hinted at the possibility with James Franco (Why Him?) and Zoe Kazan (The Big Sick) among the names rumored.

Nelson previously worked with the Coens in the 2000 adventure musical O Brother, Where Art Thou? with George Clooney and John Turturro.

“We are streaming motherfu*kers!,” the Coens said in a statement.

70mm superhero Christopher Nolan is crying in a bathtub of Dunkirk money somewhere.

“The Coens are visionary directors, masterful storytellers, and colorful linguists,” said Cindy Holland, vice president of original content for Netflix. “We are thrilled for Netflix to become home to the full range of their talents.”

The Coen brothers put out Hail, Caesar! last year. The film grossed $63.6 million worldwide on a $22 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo. It’s their seventh highest-grossing film out of 17 movies. This is their first foray into television.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs premieres in 2018.
