Crime 101 (2026) Movie Review

Crime 101 (2026) is a movie that was directed by Bart Layton. This movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry and Monica Barbaro. It has a run time of 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Crime 101 is one of the types of movies that I usually look forward to see. It is in a genre that I like and it also has a really great cast of actors. I get all excited but then once I see it, I don’t want to see it again and it’s a bit of a let down. That’s Crime 101, it’s disappointing. I think for 2026 it might the be the worst movie I have seen so far.

The problem with this movie wasn’t that it was boring. I wasn’t sitting in my seat waiting for it to end. It was instead that once it did end and I knew how the whole story played out. I realised that it was pointless. There’s little meaning in the movie and it lacks any depth or development for the characters. It just goes nowhere. So I left feeling like I really got nothing out of seeing Crime 101.

The story was about a thief (Chris Hemsworth) and corporate worker (Halle Berry) who decide to collude to rob some millionaires and retire from the loot. It’s interesting and it keeps you there due to the risk involved, but it goes nowhere.

The performances are just okay, I didn’t think anyone in this really stood out or had a memorable scene. It’s been not long since I left the cinema really and I am struggling to remember the performances. There’s just nothing special about the movie.

The action scenes are also all generic and forgettable. Do not go see Crime 101 for the action scenes.

I recommend if you are going to the cinema to go with caution. Go see Crime 101 only if you really must see it. Otherwise spare yourself and choose something else this weekend. Every other movie playing this weekend is better than Crime 101.
