Tom Cruise has announced an upcoming Days of Thunder follow-up with Anne Hathaway at Daytona International Speedway. Paramount Pictures says the film will be released exclusively in cinemas in 2028.
Cruise will return as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle, while Hathaway is set to play a team owner and engineer. The project follows the original Days of Thunder, which was released in 1990.
Cruise will star and produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper.
Jonathan Levine is set to direct the film from a screenplay by Will Staples.
Paramount Pictures also confirmed that the new Days of Thunder will be filmed for IMAX.
