Deadpool director Tim Miller is working on a Kitty Pryde movie for Fox’s X-Men universe with the possibility to direct himself, according to Collider. Kitty Pryde is the levitating, untouchable X-Man played by Ellen Page (Juno) in X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: The Last Stand.
She, and anything she touches, can go through solid objects. But will she make it through the Disney-Fox merger? Once that deal goes through, Kitty Pryde can potentially join Iron Man, Captain America and Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. An already in development Kitty Pryde movie could be shelved.
Miller is set to direct a new Terminator movie for a July 2019 release. He’s also an executive producer on a Sonic the Hedgehog movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
And, of course, the aforementioned Disney merger could put the Marvel projects at Fox in jeopardy. The only one confirmed to be in the development stages is a Logan spinoff starring Laura, the young girl. Rumored projects include a Multiple Man movie starring James Franco (The Disaster Artist) by Deadline and an X-Force movie written and directed by Drew Goddard that is apparently safe with the Disney deal, according to DiscussingFilm.
The X-Men movies that are set to come out include New Mutants on April 13, Deadpool 2 on June 1, Dark Phoenix on Nov. 2 and Gambit on Feb. 14, 2019.
