Back in the Game.
That’s right, Nathan Drake is back in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Sony deputed the trailer to close out their press conference (because what other game would they close with… The Last Guardian? Don’t make me laugh).
So check out the video:
“So can I count on you, one last time?” It seems Uncharted 4 will feature both Drake and Sully diving headlong into danger, however Sully is nowhere to be seen in this video. I’m sure he’ll play an integral role in the story, but Drake’s been “out of the game for awhile”. A few years have past, and Sully wasn’t a spring chicken in Uncharted 3 and will be even older in U4. “A Thief’s End”, has been talked about as possibly Nathan Drake’s last outing. It very well might be, but you have to remember, there are two thieves in the Uncharted series. This may be Sully’s last ride. Although, IGN talked to Nolan North, the voice of Nathan Drake, and he feels as if this will be the last game in the series, but he adds that nothing is confirmed in that regard. Here’s a game synopsis via IGN:
“Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves. With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. His greatest adventure will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.”
It’s also unclear how this relates to the teaser trailer seen back in November for the PS4’s launch. Naughty Dog has lost key members of staff over the past few months, including the voice actor in that trailer. However, it seems that the project has not derailed in anyway as Uncharted 4 is scheduled to be released sometime in 2015.
Teaser Trailer
In the interview Naughty Dog’s Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann (Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us) talk about the transition from The Last of Us to Uncharted 4, graphical details, and gameplay.
This is going to be really good!
