There Are Spoilers In Our Fear The Walking Dead Brother’s Keeper Review Discussion

So the latest episode of Fear The Walking Dead just aired and this episode was focused on what the people at the ranch are doing and also specifically what Troy has been up to while in exile all this time.

For much of the episode it is actually quite the slow start, while things do pick up quite quickly by the end, there was a lot of screen time devoted to things that maybe didn’t matter too much in scheme of things.

What’s most interesting in this episode is the actions of Troy. While out there in his exile, he is in some type of mad state and somehow manages to lure a massive herd of Walkers in the direction of the ranch. Also because he’s a madman he goes and warns Nick and his brother Jake about it and the two later venture out to investigate all of this.

Both Troy and Jake spent some time arguing with each other and threatened each other back and forth, but it wasn’t not long before things got out of hand and Jake ended up getting bitten by one of the infected. It’s a disaster for the two brothers and Troy does end up having to eventually put down Jake and this episode marks the end of that character in this series.

While I don’t think Jake ever did have as big as an impact as Troy did in the show so far, his relationship with Alicia was becoming interesting. I do wonder how this will affect the development of Troy going forward, will it set him straight again or will it further his madness?

One of the more interesting characters in this episode was Alicia. This is a character who we haven’t really seen step up into a leadership role before, but in this episode she seems to really step it up as the leader of the Ranch. When the threat of the infected starts coming near, she goes into some type of battle mode and everyone who lives at the ranch seems to rally behind her with their full support. I loved seeing this character grow and I look forward to seeing what plots might develop as the story continues and I do wonder what impact Jake’s death will have on her going forward, particularly since their last meeting wasn’t so positive.

This was a fairly good episode, but did have a very slow start to it all. I guess the horde of infected does displace all our characters quite a bit and with Madison, Qaletqa and Victor returning with the much needed water supply, it all seems to be nothing now compared to the threat that swarmed the ranch. I’m not sure how they’ll all deal with this, but am looking forward to the episodes coming soon.

This episode of Fear The Walking Dead airs on Monday the 25th of September @ 1.30pm and 7.30pm AEST Express from the US.
