During the Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con, Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) and James Gunn (director/co-writer) revealed the release date for Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
The film will take up the July 28, 2017 time slot Marvel reserved last week. Marvel has two other dates reserved for 2017 (May 5 and November 3) although it’s unknown what those two films are.
Guardians of the Galaxy will arrive two weeks after The Fantastic Four 2 is released on July 14.
We know James Gunn is returning to write and direct the film although it’s unknown if Guardians co-screenwriter Nicole Perlman is returning (she currently has no other films in development).
