The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 has topped the Australian box office on its opening night last night. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 brought in a very impressive $2.77 million from 270 locations around Australia (including the midnight showtimes). This also makes The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 the film with the biggest opening day of any film in Australia for 2014 so far.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire also opened quite high as well last year, bringing in $1.75m and $2.72m respectively on its opening days. But Mockingjay Part 1 has surpassed the previous film with its earning so far, for its first day.
