Idris Elba has been rumored to appear in the new Star Trek film, Star Trek Beyond, for a while now, and today those rumors have been put to rest.
In a charity video by Omaze, where the crew of the USS Enterprise explain how one lucky donator can appear in a walk-on role in the film, Idris Elba just pops up at the end, confirming his place in the cast. His role was not discussed, although those rumors claimed he plays the role of the villain.
Donating at least $10 to “Star Trek: To Boldly Go” enters you into the contest to be in the new film which is set to be released to coincide with the franchise’s 50th anniversary on July 8, 2016.
