What do we know so far about Raised By Wolves?
Ridley Scott is serving as the executive director of the show and is also directing the first 2 episodes of this 10 episode season. It is quite significant as the director is mostly well known for his films such as Gladiator and Alien and hasn’t done a TV series before, this will be his first time as a director of a TV series.
Who is in the cast?
The cast includes Australian actor Travis Fimmel of Vikings, along with Amanda Collin, Abubakar Salim, Winta McGrath, Niamh Algar, Jordan Loughran, Matias Varela, Felix Jamieson, Ethan Hazzard, Aasiya Shah and Ivy Wong.
Is Raised By Wolves Good?
I thought that the episode was really good. Ridley Scott is a director who I really enjoy and his films have always been excellent. What I like the most about this films is that they have a way in which somehow you become quite immersed in them the more you watch it. The same can be said here with Raised By Wolves, I was so immersed with this first episode, I felt like I was one of Ridley Scott’s movies!
he production values of this show are extremely high for something on television. The special effects team really did a great job with the space ship effects in the show. The set design is also quite good, even though the events of the first episode pretty much take place in one location, each shot seemed to be in a different place so it made that one small location never really feel the same.
Raised By Wolves is a about a family that is brought up on a isolated planet by two Androids. The two Androids are bringing up the children as Atheists and there is talk about a previous war that was lost with the believers, which are the humans. The Androids strongly believe in science first, but they struggle there on the planet. I don’t want to go into too much more detail about the show because I don’t want to spoil anything at all about it for my readers. However I did find the themes of religions vs atheism to be very surprising as something that the show is exploring. Nevertheless I was completely immersed by the end of the first episode, that I simply can’t wait for episodes 2-10 to become available. I’ve now actually watched many later episodes of the show on BINGE and I have to say, it’s awesome, I definitely recommend getting BINGE If you can this weekend and checking out the show. It’s just so interesting!
The performances are also entertaining, I really like seeing Travis Fimmel acting again and he’s character is my favourite one in the show, he plays one of the concerned humans who arrives at the strange android settlement. Amanda Collin is also really good as the Android mother of the group.
If you like science fiction and particularly enjoy a good android tale, then Raised By Wolves is definitely something you should take a look at this week. I will probably watch it a second time when it airs on television as I was very impressed with this first episode. The whole religion theme to it is a bit odd, but I’ll continue on with it for the rest of the season to see how it goes. Another great reason to at least watch the first 2 episodes is that they were both directed by Ridley Scott, so there’s something special to them.
