Josh Brolin turned down a role in an Avatar sequel and James Cameron is a little upset, according to the actor in a profile with Esquire that was published on Wednesday.
“If I don’t want to do Avatar,” Brolin said, “I’m not going to do Avatar. James Cameron’s fu*king calling me this name and that name. Whatever. If James Cameron came to me and said, ‘Hey, man, why’d you say that?’ I’d go, ‘Because it happened.'”
Brolin is keeping himself busy at the moment. He was spotted filming Deadpool 2 where he is playing the character Cable. The Hollywood Reporter says he has signed on to play the character in four films….

……and on top of that, he said in 2016 on Conan that he signed on to play country singer George Jones in a movie.
Just in case you need more Brolin in your diet; he has Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski’s true story firefighter thriller Only the Brave opening in October and completed work on The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter co-written and starring Danny McBride and Sicario sequel Soldado.
Meanwhile, Cameron is in production on four sequels to Avatar which he plans to shoot concurrently.
“It’s not back-to-back. It’s really all one big production. It’s more the way you would shoot a miniseries. So we’ll be shooting across all [Avatar scripts] simultaneously. So Monday I might be doing a scene from movie four, and Tuesday I’m doing a scene from movie one,” Cameron said. “We’re working across, essentially, eight hours of story. It’s going to be a big challenge to keep it all fixed in our minds, exactly where we are, across that story arc at any given point. It’s going to be probably the most challenging thing I’ve ever done. I’m sure the actors will be challenged by that as well. It’s like, ‘No, no, no, no, this person hasn’t died yet, so you’re still in this phase of your life.’ It’s a saga. It’s like doing all three Godfather films at the same time.”
