Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) posted a picture to Instagram on Sunday that teases the long-gestating remake of The Crow is on the way.
The picture is a drawing of lead character Eric Draven. In the caption, Momoa tells director Corin Hardy (The Hallow) that he’s ready to go.

Another adaption of The Crow has been floating around since 2008. Hardy signed on in late 2014 and Momoa first posted a picture with the director in summer 2016. The last we heard of the remake was in September when Sony signed on to distribute the film worldwide. Will this decade-long production finally come to an end?
The Crow was first published by Caliber Press in 1989 and continued throughout the 90’s. It focused on a guy who is brought back to life by a supernatural crow after he dies watching his fiancée getting raped, shot and beaten to death by thugs who assault them on the street when their car breaks down. Why that sexist-ass crow doesn’t resurrect the woman who was raped is beyond me?
A movie adaption was released in 1994 directed by Alex Proyas (I, Robot) and starring Brandon Lee (Rapid Fire). A sequel was released two years later and grossed about 65% less than its predecessor domestically, according to Box Office Mojo. A Canadian TV series followed in 1998 that lasted for one season and two direct-to-video movie sequels were then released in 2000 and 2005.
Hardy is currently directing The Nun, another spinoff from The Conjuring that is slated for release on July 13. Momoa can be seen in the second season of Frontier, which is airing on Discovery Channel now in Canada and will come worldwide to Netflix on Nov. 24. He’s also Aquaman, and gets his time to shine as the character in Justice League, which opens on Friday.
