Jordan Peele Writing and Directing New Original Social Thriller

Following the success of Get Out, Jordan Peele is writing, directing and producing another original social thriller for Universal.

Nothing else is known about the film, except The Hollywood Reporter says the budget is “about five times bigger” than the $4.5 million budget for Get Out. Peele also signed a first-look deal with the studio through his Monkeypaw Productions banner. With that he will also produce other films through the banner with Universal.

“I’m incredibly honored to be partnering with Donna, Peter, and all of the brilliant folks at Universal,” Peele said. “I am thrilled to continue the work we started together on Get Out — pushing the boundaries of storytelling, not only on the next film but with all of Monkeypaw’s future projects.”

Peele is best known for his work on the sketch comedy series Key & Peele with comedian Keegan Michael-Key. Get Out was his directorial debut. That film is now hovering around $200 million at the worldwide box office since opening in February. We gave it a glowing review.
