Mike Tyson Biopic in Development

While speaking to IGN at Comic-Con about his new Cartoon Network series “Mike Tyson Mysteries”, the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world spoke about a biopic in the works.

Listen, me and Jamie Foxx are in discussions and within a year or 18 months we’re going to do the Mike Tyson Story,” said Tyson.

He went on to say that they would be using performance capture in order for Jamie Foxx to appear throughout the entire film which would cover Tyson’s entire career.

He also said, “I think that Martin Scorsese is going to be involved in it as well” but didn’t say whether he would be directing the pic or not. Scorsese is currently working on his film “Silence” set for a November 2015 release. If the Mike Tyson project isn’t starting for another “year or 18 months”, then Scorsese could take on the project.

Variety is reporting that Terrence Winter (writer of Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street”) is penning the screenplay.

“Mike Tyson Mysteries” is set to air sometime in 2014.
