Minecraft Dungeons II is available now, with Mojang Studios and Xbox launching the new dungeon-crawling adventure on 29 September 2026.
The game expands on the original with deeper customisation, freer exploration and additional loot. Players can travel through large, interconnected landscapes spanning biomes including the forest-filled Howling Woods and icy Frozen Highlands.
The adventure also introduces the Sift, described as a vibrant, pastel-infused dimension containing mysteries and threats.
New gameplay systems
Minecraft Dungeons II features a connected map with main story missions and side quests. Players can navigate using Minecart Stations, Teleport Statues and Respawn Shrines, while a click-activated Guidance Trail can point the way.
The gear system provides 12 combat slots, including individual armour pieces and passive Talismans. Other additions include auto-recharging ammunition, jumping and parkour mechanics.
Enchantment Books can be collected for a personal library. Equipment can also be upgraded with Echo Shards at Brave Haven’s Enchantsmith, while Boss Totems allow boss fights to be triggered again in pursuit of rare loot.
Co-op and matchmaking
Up to four players can team up through local couch co-op, online cross-play, mixed co-op, party codes or in-game matchmaking. The game can also be played solo, with enemies including zombies, creepers, spiders and the Twisted Warden.
Minecraft Dungeons II is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud, Game Pass, Xbox Play Anywhere, Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
