Netflix users – the high class, quality-seeking batch that we are – have spent over 500 million hours watching Adam Sandler movies.
If you want to believe it’s not true and that there’s no way we could’ve made it this low, unfortunately the fun fact comes from a Netflix quarterly earnings report. Sounds pretty accurate.
“We continue to be excited by our Sandler relationship and our members continue to be thrilled with his films. Since the launch of The Ridiculous 6, Netflix members have spent more than half a billion hours enjoying the films of Adam Sandler,” states the report.
Netflix signed another four-film deal with Sandler after signing a four-film deal with the 50-year-old comedian back in October 2014. Sandler put out his third film in his original four-film deal, Sandy Wexler, on April 14. The Ridiculous 6 was released in December 2015 and The Do-Over followed five months later.
Sandler’s only set to return to the big screen in Hotel Transylvania 3 set for July 13, 2018. He has a role in Noah Baumbach’s comedy The Meyerowitz Stories with Ben Stiller, Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman. Netflix recently scooped up the distribution rights, thus keeping Sandler’s face off the big screen for the unforeseeable future.
That $10 a month is going to good use.
