Microsoft and Network Ten both announced today that Xbox users (Xbox Australia) will soon be able to watch network Ten’s content on a new video on demand service for the system.
The new service will be available for Xbox Gold Live subscribers and include popular channel ten programs such as Offspring, The Graham Norton Show, Bondi Vet, Bondi Rescue, The Living Room, Ten News at Five, Ten Late News and Totally Wild. It’s promised that content will consist of shows from all of network ten’s channels including Ten, Eleven and One.
Rebekah Horne the Chief Digital officer from network Ten said ““We are delighted to be the first Australian commercial free-to-air network to join forces with Xbox to provide its consumers with new entertainment, comedy, reality and news content.” There will be voice commands that will also be integrated into the App with over 120 already implemented.
The addition of Network Ten to Xbox is all part of Ten’s new TV “anywhere” strategy which is based around being viewable on any screen and as many screens the viewer comes into contact with. “Ten’s TV anywhere strategy will be realised over time by a number of product releases across different platforms and devices” said Rebekah Horne.
Xbox users will be able to access the new app on their Xbox 360 on Wednesday, July 10.
We reached out to Microsoft about Network Ten on Xbox One. We were told that “Your current Xbox Live Gold membership will work on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One, so it follows that Network Ten will be available on Xbox One if you have an Xbox Live Gold membership”
