PlayStation 4 sales surpass 18.5 million units worldwide as of January 4, 2015. When looking at just the holiday season alone for PS4 holiday 2014 sales, Sony has said that sales were just above 4.1 million units globally. On top of these hardware sales figures, PlayStation Plus subscribers have now reached 10.9 million people worldwide as of January 2, 2015.
Andrew House of Sony Computer Entertainment said ““We are absolutely delighted that so many customers around the globe have continued to select PS4 as their console of choice throughout this holiday season We will continue to reinforce and deliver additional value on PS4 as the best place to play, by bringing even more exciting content and by enriching our wide array of service offerings.”
In relation to the software sales on the console it is said by Sony that 81.8 million copies of retail and digital copies of software have been globally for the PlayStation 4.
