Pride And Prejudice And Zombies Review

Pride And Prejudice And Zombies is a film based on the very famous fictional novel Pride and Prejudice. In a nutshell it’s simply a scenario in which the characters in the novel are playing out as everything should, but in this instance, there are zombies present in their universe, which the characters must fight and kill from time to time. But soon they will all have to prepare for a big battle as the humans and the zombies are about to win and it’s up to Jane Austen’s characters to save England!

This is really just a silly movie and it’s one of those films that you hear about or watch and you wonder how it was that the creators managed to convince someone in hollywood to spend quite a few million making, but they did and now we have this to watch this month.

The film does have some okay moments here and there. Mainly being the presence of Matt Smith who plays Parson Collins, who had many in the cinema laughing on and off during his appearances throughout the film. I only wish Matt Smith was in there a lot more than he was. Sam Riley (Mr. Darcy) and Lily James (Elizabeth Bennet) play both of the lead characters and are entertaining enough. No one really had the best dialogue to work with, with many moments simply defaulting to a fight sequence to pass the time.

Pride And Prejudice Zombies

The story is okay really, but you can only do so much with Zombies and to be honest Zombies are just stupid, they just constantly attack and attack and our characters defend and defend and it gets a bit boring. I found myself during the film kind of wishing I could have just watched all these great actors just act out the actual Pride And Prejudice story because they weren’t too bad all at it, it’s just they had Zombies distracting them.

Overall this film is really average and during it I couldn’t wait for it to wrap up. Sure it was funny from time to time and Matt Smith brought a lot to the entertainment value of this film. But it’s just way too silly for me and I don’t feel comfortable telling people to go spend their money on this at all. Maybe just watch it when it’s available to rent or on TV when it comes out. Only see it if you really want to or if you really dare.
