Our website is built using WordPress and as so, the comments that are left on any of our posts or articles do generate some information on the back end of our site. When an individual leaves a comment on Resident Entertainment we are able to see that individual’s IP address, email address and name provided to us along with the time and date for when the comment was left. At Resident Entertainment these details are recorded by us when a comment is left, but we do not use them for any marketing initiatives or share them in any way.

Comments are currently being handled by Disqus, please see below for information regarding your privacy with Disqus.

These email addresses are on record with Resident Entertainment and will not be shared with or sold to any outside or third party organisation. Users are able to sign up and opt out at any time. We currently comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Australia). We have also implemented a double opt-in newsletter service, once a subscriber joins on our site they will need to confirm this by clicking on a link. Only then will they start to receive emails from us. Resident Entertainment is not interested in spamming people and we really try hard to respect everyone’s privacy.

Third Party Services

Google Analytics and Google Adsense

We use Google Analytics for collecting stats on our visitor numbers which we use to know if anyone is actually reading our site. On Resident Entertainment we also have display advertising which is generated by Google Adsense. Some of this is tracked by Google and while it is displayed on our site we do not choose what is displayed. These adverts are generated for visitors by Google based on the space we provide on the site for them to appear.

We may at times share our Google Analytics data with outside organisations who wish to advertise with us, but only on general terms. This would be such things as number of unique viewers to the site, number of page views, popular age groups (e.g. 13-25) and country of origin. These general stats  may be shown to potential advertisers to prove our visitor numbers when Resident Entertainment needs to.

As Google is a third party we can’t control what they do. Google has its own privacy policy for all of its services which you can read here.

Disqus is a third party comment system we use on Resident Entertainment that enhances the comment section on our site. While Resident Entertainment does not share information about who comments on Resident Entertainment with anyone, we do use this third party service. Disqus allows for users to either sign up with Disqus to leave comments on our site either with a Disqus account, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or LinkedIn. As Disqus is a third party service which Resident Entertainment uses please refer to their privacy policy which can be read right here.

Amazon is a third party partner of ours. We are part of the Amazon associates program in Australia. There are links on our site that direct to Amazon AU when clicked on and Resident Entertainment earns referral fees on sales from these clicks. Amazon is a large multinational company based in the United States and we think they are safe. You can read their privacy policy here.

One Signal

We use One Signal for our push notification on the site. The company is well recognised as a leader in push notifications. We use the service so we can notify readers when new posts appear on Resident Entertainment. You can opt-out of them at any time by clicking on the bell on the bottom right of any of our pages. Or by going into your browser settings and disabling them. The One Signal privacy policy can be found here.

If you have any queries about our privacy policy please go to our contact us page and ask us a question. We are happy to answer any question that any of our readers have about their privacy which we do try our best to respect and keep protected and private at all times.
