The title of the Blade Runner sequel has been revealed to be Blade Runner 2049.
Harrison Ford reprises his role from the original 1982 film, which took place in a 2019 with flying cars and expensive robot owls. Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Dave Bautista, Barkhad Abdi, and Mackenzie Davis round out the cast.
Sicario director Denis Villeneuve replaces Ridley Scott, who returns this time as a producer. The screenplay was written by the original film’s co-writer Hampton Fancher and Green Lantern co-writer Michael Green.
Villeneuve releases the critically-acclaimed sci-fi drama Arrival, where Amy Adams plays a linguist hired to communicate with alien invaders, on Nov. 11.
Production on Blade Runner 2049 began in July, according to Variety. The film is scheduled for Oct. 6, 2017.
