Scorsese’s Next Film Due Out in 2015

Martin Scorsese’s next film, Silence, looks like it will be hitting theaters November 2015.

Deadline reports the news, saying that Paramount Pictures is in talks for U.S. distribution rights and will be setting the film to be released during Oscar Season. Paramount Pictures distributed Scorsese’s last three films (Wolf of Wall Street, Hugo, and Shutter Island).

Martin Scorsese announced his plans to adapt the novel “Silence” in 2007 and currently has Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfield, Ken Watanabe, and Adam Driver set to star and Jay Cocks writing the screenplay (who previously wrote Scorsese’s Gangs of New York and The Age of Innocence).

The novel tells the story of a Jesuit missionary (Garfield) sent to 17th century Japan to investigate reports that his mentor (Liam Neeson) has left the church.
