Scream 7 (2026) Movie Review

Scream 7 (2026) is a movie that was directed by Kevin Williamson. This movie stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and Isabel May. It has a run time of 1h 54m.

Hard to believe we’re at Scream 7 now. But these movies must make a lot of money because they keep coming out. Lately I have been enjoying these Scream movies at the cinema, there’s been a few released in recent years. They are horror movies, but they are also a bit funny in some parts, I guess to lighten things up in between all the murders.

For fans of the recent films, I would say that your expectation of Scream 7 should be that it’s of similar quality and experience to Scream 6 and 5. With those movies I enjoyed watching them at the time, but after a few weeks they are kind of forgettable. This is the same for Scream 7. There’s a very easy to follow and unmemorable story and a lot of fun death scenes, but nothing more than that.

Actors are good, usually I find horror movie actors and their characters to be quite disposable. But I liked the performances from the cast in this. I felt that they were all pleasant in the more dialogue heavy scenes. The best of the lot was Isabel May, who plays the main character Tatum. Her performance was very good in the more scary scenes and she did well to make it all feel real.

I always find these movies hard to review because although I do know this movie was not great and nobody is going to be calling it a masterpiece, it is certainly was fun to watch. There’s people that will re-watch it and enjoy it. The franchise has a lot of fans. Due to this I would say that if you want to see it at the cinema this weekend, you will enjoy it most if you’re a fan of the franchise already or if you’re okay with a fun movie that you might forget you saw in a couple of weeks time (not a bad thing).
