During their Comic-Con presentation today, Legendary Pictures announced a movie based on King Kong’s home, Skull Island.
A teaser was shown during the panel which ended with a gorilla roaring into the night.
While the gorilla may be King Kong, remember that he did have a son in 1933’s Son of Kong, so the movie could take place before or after the events involving Kong in New York.
It’s also unknown if the movie is going to have any relation to the 2005 Peter Jackson King Kong movie or if Legendary is going to start fresh. However, remember that King Kong and Godzilla met and battled in 1962’s King Kong vs. Godzilla. Legendary is also working with the Godzilla franchise so do you think the two could cross over one day?
The cast, crew, and plot for Skull Island is still completely unknown.
Skull Island is set to be released on November 4, 2016.
