Snatched Review

Snatched is a comedy film which comes directed by Jonathan Levine who some may know for his work on Warm Bodies (2013).  The film stars Amy Schumer (Emily) and Goldie Hawn (Linda). Snatched is about a mother and daughter who travel to South America for a holiday, while there, they get kidnapped and a whole lot of other wild events occur.

This is a movie that I was only interested in seeing because I have not seen Goldie Hawn in anything really for a very long time. While the trailer isn’t the best really, I wanted to go in there anyway, it might be fun I thought.

What you get here, is basically what you see in the trailer. Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer go on a trip to South America and all sorts of crazy things happen to them, the least of which is their kidnapping by local gangsters. The plot of the film is okay, but it is overall quite silly.

The pacing of the film is quick and its director, Jonathan Levine seems to like it that way. Although the actors, other than the two leads in the film, all seemed to be quite terrible. Nothing in the film is serious and everything just comes across as silly. While there is some good humour to be had in there and I laughed a few times at some of the jokes, it’s not what I would describe as anything memorable.

Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer in Snatched – Snatched Review

Being only a day since I’ve seen Snatched, I”m already starting to forget the experience. Sure it was fun seeing Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer visit South America. But unless you’re a fan of these two actors and are going along just to see one of them. There’s not much reason to go and see Snatched, sure it’ll provide some laughs and has a few awww moments between the mother and daughter characters. But it’s mostly just silly, forgettable nonsense. That’s okay, I’m not super disappointed, it’s just there’s a lot out there to choose from and this one just isn’t the best of the bunch at the moment.
