Taylor Swift: Miss Americana is a film that is available to watch on Netflix and is a look at the famous pop star from behind the scenes. It goes into her role as a singer/song writer and gives fans a glimpse of some difficult moments in the life of Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift has been around in pop culture for a long time now. For many people, she’s always been presented as a very successful singer who has many awards and lives a seemingly perfect lifestyle. At least that’s what I’ve seen whenever I’ve seen Taylor Swift in the media. She seems to release album after album and they’re all a great success. But along the way, there’s always been quite a few dramas in her life and these things seem to explode when they’re covered in the media. This movie covers the behind the scenes moments and the reactions from Taylor Swift for many of the things that have happened recently.
After watching this in full a few days ago, I came to the conclusion that this is quite a good film as it helps to humanise Taylor Swift as something different to what I’ve come to think of her as due to her coverage in the media. What we see in the media isn’t necessarily what she is like. She’s not what we all think and she has feelings and emotions and other struggles that most of us all go through. There is also immense pressure that comes with handling so much fame and followers.
The film also covers quite a bit of Taylor Swifts comments on current political events and what led to her posting her political views, which she has not done at all in the past. I enjoyed the look into this in this film as it made me think about the struggle these people have with I guess managing their brand as a singer and all that comes with that, such as a management team and their opinions of what should be done. Then there’s also who Taylor Swift is as a person and what she believes in and wants to share. For most of us it’s easy to just post whatever we want on our social media including political views, but for someone like Taylor Swift, it’s a massive decision that comes with real consequences. I really enjoyed that the film looked at this in great detail and it was very interesting to see.
For fans of Taylor Swift, this film will definitely be something of great interest. It’s also a decent watch for anyone out there who just wants to know more about what it’s like for current pop stars and what they are going through. It’s a much different age that we live in now, with stars having to manage their social media and seeing so much feedback from their fans/haters constantly which is a lot, but on top of that, they also are monitoring what the media is saying about them and it’s not easy at all.
I’m happy to recommend taking a look at Taylor Swift: Miss Americana on Netflix this week if you have some spare time. The film provides a look into the current state of the pop culture world that is often not seen at all for those of us on the outside with only the media or social media to tell us what’s really happening.
