Terminator Genisys is directed by Alan Taylor who some may know from such films as Thor: The Dark World and a few episodes of Game Of Thrones such as Valar Morghulis.

Terminator Genisys follows the story of Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney), who travels back in time to help John Conner’s mother, Sarah Conner (Emilia Clarke), as well as her Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), prepare for Judgement day.

An interesting fact about this film is that according to IMDB’s trivia section the “Sys” part of the Genisys comes from ‘system’ which is the critical files a computer uses when it first starts up and it’s these files that are depended upon to keep the computer functioning. “Genisis” is referring to the beginning of the story and because there is time travel in this film with characters going back in time, this is the beginning of the story.
