This month being October, I thought that I’d share a film out of the public domain from the horror genre (because of Halloween and all). This month you can enjoy The House On Haunted Hill (1959). This classic film stars Vincent Price, Carol Ohmart, Richard Long, Elisha Cook Jr. and Alan Marshal.
The film comes directed by William Castle who has directed a variety of classic films including The Tingler (1959), Strait-Jacket (1964) and 13 Ghosts (1960). According to IMDB’s trivia for this film, the amount of money this film made at the box office was noticed by Alfred Hitchcock, which led him to eventually create his own horror film, Psycho in 1960.
The House On Haunted Hill is a story about a group of five people who are challenged to stay in a haunted house for the night and if they survive there, they’ll get ten thousand dollars.
