Twisters Review

Twisters is a film which comes directed by Lee Isaac Chung. The film stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos. The movie has a run time of 2 hours and 2 minutes.

This was a movie that I was very excited to see. I really enjoy the 1996 Twister movie and never expected there to be any sort of sequel or reboot of that film. One thing that I’ve missed for a while at the cinema is a good disaster movie. There’s seemed to be a lot of thee in the 90’s/00’s and then they just disappeared or were forgettable. So when I saw the trailer for Twisters and it looked decent, I was excited to see how it would be.

In this film, the plot is similar to the 1996 Twister. Teams are in the American country side chasing twisters. The reason they are trying to find twisters, is because they want to use some advanced equipment to figure out how twisters work and how to stop them. Their goal is to ultimately save lives and curb destruction. These are great people.

In this film, Kate (Daisy Edgar-Jones) is the main character and a twister specialist. She gets recruited by Javi (Anthony Ramos) to help him and his team to track down and find the twisters. When Kate arrives there, she meets Tyler (Glen Powell) and there’s some romance there.

The story in this is good. I was expecting a complete disaster of writing, but this one surprised me. I liked all of the characters and the actors all did a great job. I was impressed with Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos. They were a well cast group and I’m hoping we get to see more movies in the future with them in there. They all got a lot of potential.

Another reason to go and see Twisters this weekend is for the sounds and special effects. The action sequences look amazing on the big screen. The twisters look real and because you care for the characters, the intense scenes have a lot of impact.

Overall Twisters is my recommended movie of the week. If you miss watching good disaster movies that were popular in the 90’s/00’s then this one is for you! Twisters has got a great cast, great action sequences and decent story telling. I’m excited to watch this film a second time when it releases and look forward to getting the 4K Blu-Ray version if they release one. Hope you enjoy the film!
