After Universal announced that Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan were developing a shared monster movie universe starting with a reboot of The Mummy, we’ve been wondering who’s going to helm the project. Today we have an answer.
Alex Kurtzman himself is directing the project. His only other directorial effort is 2012’s “People Like Us” starring Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks. Kurtzman is mostly a writer/producer working on films like “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”, “Star Trek Into Darkness”, and “Cowboys & Aliens”. He’s currently set to write the “Venom” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” for Sony and the “Van Helsing” movie for his own monster movie universe for Universal. In the TV world, he’s known for creating “Fringe” and “Sleepy Hollow”, writing various episodes for both series.
The Mummy will walk out of his tomb and into your movie theater on April 22, 2016.
I’ve seen that movie “People Like Us” I watched it recently on TV, it
was pretty good. I’m interested to see what that director can do
