Starting off the night by setting a release date for “Furious 8”, Universal has some more release date news for you.

To kick things off, “Warcraft” has been delayed from March 11, 2016 to June 10, 2016. That’s a busy day filled with the “Uncharted” movie, “Now You See Me 2”, and “The Conjuring 2”. Coming a week after “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2” and a week before “Finding Dory” and Kevin Hart/The Rock comedy “Central Intelligence” makes for a packed month. March 11, 2016 is now occupied with historical dramas “Christ the Lord” and “Free State of Jones”. The poor live-action “World of Warcraft” movie was supposed to come out in 2009, if anybody remembers that.

“Pacific Rim 2” has also been delayed from its April 7, 2017 spot to August 4, 2017. No other films are currently set for the entire month of August 2017, but “Pacific Rim 2” does come the week after the live-action Spider-Man movie debuts. April 7 now belongs to Blue Sky animated film “Ferdinand”.

“The Mummy”, Universal’s first film in their planned Monster movie shared universe, has been delayed from June 24, 2016 to March 24, 2017. That Spring date is the same as the final Divergent film “Allegiant – Part 2”. Those two films come a week after the live-action “Beauty and the Beast” film and a week before Sony’s animated Smurfs film. June 24, 2016 now belongs to “Independence Day 2”. Universal also moved another of their monster movies from April 21, 2017 (a week after “Furious 8”) to March 30, 2018.

Universal also scheduled Tom Cruise crime thriller “Mena” for January 6, 2017, “Fifty Shades Darker” for February 10, 2017, and “Fifty Shades Freed” for February 9, 2018.
