Well South Park fans there’s good and bad news, which do you want first? Well regardless of you’re preference, I’m giving the bad news first. After finally getting a solid release date, The Stick of Truth has been delayed. After changing hands from THQ to Ubisoft it was announced in September that the game would see store shelves in December. Hopeful fans will now have to settle for March 4, 2014 in North America or March 6th in Europe. EB games Australia still lists the game’s release as December 12th, but the release date should be during early March as well.
According to the Ubiblog, Laurent Detoc (Ubisoft’s North American president) states “Within three weeks after acquiring the game, we sadly realized we had to turn this thing upside down if we hoped to deliver the experience everybody wanted.” Matt Stone and Trey Parker (South Park creators) have heavy influence on the game and the game’s quality. Although the delay is disheartening the extra time and effort will be worthwhile on the finished project.
South Park: The Stick of Truth is an RPG featuring incredible animation closely, if not exactly resembling that of the show. The player takes on the role of the new kid in town and gets caught up in the other kid’s live action role playing game. Since the game is an RPG it features different roles such as the “paladin” and “bard”, power-ups, abilities, experience, and a turn based battle system. The game will also feature the crude humor the series is known for.
