Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish are receiving writing credits for “Ant-Man” along with Adam McKay and Paul Rudd.

This comes from The Wrap who claim this resulted from “a dispute that was determined by arbitration”.

Originally, Edgar Wright was supposed to direct his and Cornish’s screenplay, but creative differences led to Wright leaving the project. Marvel courted Adam McKay (director of both “Anchorman” films, “Step Brothers”, and “The Other Guys”) to direct but producing commitments led him unable to do so. However, he agreed to rewrite the Wright/Cornish script with Ant-Man himself Paul Rudd. The directing job was given to Peyton Reed (director of “Yes Man”, “The Break-Up”, and “Down with Love”).

Wright and Cornish did receive sole story credits, but McKay and Rudd were the only script writers before today. Wright and Cornish remain the only two credits for the story.

“Ant-Man” is set for release in US cinemas on July 17.
