Fox has delayed The New Mutants by 10 months as Deadpool 2 and Gambit also get new release dates.

New Mutants was scheduled for April 13, but will now hit theaters on Feb. 22, 2019. The other two releases weren’t as drastic with Deadpool 2 moving two weeks up to May 18 and Gambit being pushed four months from February to June 2019.

The Hollywood Reporter says “one reason” for the change was to avoid having New Mutants and Deadpool 2 share screens at the same time. As for Gambit, it’s projected to “do better as a summer Marvel movie.”

X-Men: Dark Phoenix hasn’t moved from its Nov. 2 spot.

Deadpool 2 shares its release date with Slenderman and opens a week before Solo: A Star Wars Story. New Mutants, a horror movie, is opening a week after a Blumhouse horror film. Meanwhile, Gambit does battle with Charlie’s Angels and The Secret Life of Pets 2 on opening day before taking on Shaft the week after.

The news comes just hours after Gambit lost its director and a day after a Kitty Pryde movie was said to be in development.
