Not Worth It

Ready Or Not Review

Ready Or Not is a film which comes directed by Matt Bettenelli Olpin and Tyler Gillet. The film stars Samara Weaving, Adam Brody, Andie Macdowell and Mark O’Brien.

When I first saw the trailer for Ready Or Not I was watching it on the train on my phone in 360p. I had completely mistaken Samara Weaving for Margot Robbie and thought that we were getting another Margot Robbie film, the two look quite alike! But actually this stars Samara Weaving who is actually pretty good in this. The rest of the cast though, were pretty boring though.

Ready Or Not action horror film that also happens the be a comedy. There’s quite a bit of gore in this and some bloody scenes but the light tone makes certain moments in this film more funny than scary. Depending on how much you like the humour In Ready Or Not will determine how much you love this film or not. I didn’t really love it and found the characters all really dull and not funny at all. But I could hear other people in the screening I was in laughing a lot, so maybe it was just me.

The problem with choosing to see this film this week is that actually it has a bit of competition from Zombieland: Double Tap which is a film offering a very similar experience to Ready Or Not. They both sit in this violent but funny genre of action films, but I’d say this week if you want to experience something from this genre that Zombieland: Double Tap is the better of the two films. It’s more fun, has a better cast and the action sequences are a lot better.

Overall Ready Or Not isn’t really a film you should rush out to see. It would be best to just check this out when it comes out to rent or stream on Netflix. Samara Weaving does do well in the role but the film feels like a bit of a mess. I’d say it’s only worth it if you happen to like the humour in this and I just didn’t get this movie at all.
