Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a sequel to the 1988 Beetlejuice film. This film sees the original director Tim Burton return to direct for a second time. The cast of this film consists of returning cast members and also some new ones, these include Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Jenna Ortega and Willem Dafoe. This film has a run time of 1 hour and 44 minutes.
I was excited to go and see this at the cinema. I always enjoy watching aTim Burton movie and miss seeing them at the cinema lately. Beetlejuice is a unique and fun world that Tim Burton created and it’s good to see him making a second one of these films.
The acting in this is excellent. Michael Keaton is enjoyable once again as the Beetlejuice character and although years have passed since the first film, he looks just the same somehow. I also enjoyed Jenna Ortega, he performances was good for the scenes she did have. In the moments where Willem Dafoe was there, I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting he would have more screen time but his role is minimal.
The special effects in this are good. There’s a lot less practical effects compared to the first Beetlejuice film and a lot of this second film’s effects are purely CGI. It’s done well though and doesn’t look too fake or unbelievable in the world of Beetlejuice.
As a comedy film, I enjoyed this. A lot of people in the screening that I was in were laughing at the jokes and there was a good atmosphere in the room with many people seeming to enjoy the humour.
Another good thing about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is that it’s quite a good movie to watch for Halloween. When October is here this year, if this is still in the cinema or if it’s available at home, I recommend watching it.
Overall Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a fun light comedy film. It’s funny and a little spooky. Similar the first film, it’s quirky and an overall good time at the cinema.
