REVIEW: “The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff”

Houses that go bump in the night, communicating with the dead through séance rituals, a bag of bones to help you clean up and more things to spook your sims silly! Time to exorcise the secrets of The Sims 4 Paranormal.

The latest Sims 4 Stuff Pack is for the spirit seekers. Granted, we have had ghosts in the game before. This new pack expands the experience of “ghosts” by giving us a new lot trait, career path, décor and outfits — alongside some fun and creepy gameplay. This new pack is bound to be a graveyard smash.

The updated Haunted House Lot Trait will encourage “paranormal” activity. Strange things start to happen… Flickering lights, creepy artefacts will appear and spooky spectres will drop by unannounced. Don’t worry, they are completely harmless… unless provoked.

Dead, but nevertheless, charming; Claude René Duplantier Guidry (Guidry for short) will be your guide through the afterlife. Purchase a séance table and summon Guidry for hints on how to communicate with the dead.

If you’re starting to feel at home in the haunted mansion of your dreams, perhaps a change of career is in place. The new Paranormal Investigator freelance career means your sims can make a living talking to invisible people, better known as “ghosts”.

The Sims 4 Paranormal introduces vintage and bohemian style to create-a-sim and build and buy mode content. Sparking reminiscence to the era of the 70s where Paranormal experiences were historically praised — this pack screams “Amityville Horror”.

Dilapidated and decapitated — creepy décor is encouraged with the addition of worn portraits, rattan furniture and creepy things you might usually find in the attic. The more “possessed” your house becomes, you’ll start to see

Fringes, layers and tassels, flowy sleeves and heaped accessories — the retro is real. New hairstyles, clothing, jewellery and the opportunity to unlock a “paranormal investigator” appropriate outfit. But, only, if your sims are brave enough to stay in a haunted house for 7 days. Mwa ha ha haa…

The amount of content and gameplay in The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff is huge compared to earlier “stuff packs”. The Sims team does the theme justice and your wallet — It doesn’t take a psychic to see that this pack is teeming with “stuff”!

The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff Pack is now available for purchase on EA Origin and requires The Sims 4 Base Game to play.

Thanks to EA Game Changers for providing me with a code for The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff.
