Ryan Reynolds confirmed he will next reprise Deadpool in an X-Force movie and disgraced actor T.J. Miller will not appear in it.
In a feature on Reynolds for The New York Times on Wednesday, the Deadpool actor wouldn’t comment on Miller. However, he did say that Miller would not appear in Deadpool’s next movie, which the publication notes as “X-Force”.
Miller has faced charges of battery and calling in a bomb threat within the past five months. On top of that, the Emoji Movie and Silicon Valley actor is facing sexual violence accusations from his college days.
As for the X-Force movie, this is the first, official word that an X-Force movie is next up for Deadpool after years of rumors.
Last we heard about a potential X-Force team-up movie was also on Wednesday when a Ryan Reynolds interview was published on YouTube when the actor seemed a bit more clueless about Deadpool’s future. Reynolds said, “I don’t think there will be a ‘Deadpool 3’, I think going forward it would be an X-Force movie.” Not exactly a confirmation, buddy.
The X-Force movie has been rumored since 2013 when Kick-Ass 2 and Truth or Dare filmmaker Jeff Wadlow was supposedly working on it. Around the release of Deadpool in 2016, Reynolds said he wanted to do an X-Force movie and, a couple of months later, disgraced X-Men filmmaker Bryan Singer said a writer was working on it.
That was the last confirmation that an X-Force movie was in development outside of rumors. The latest rumor is that the movie is filming in October from filmmaker Drew Goddard with Reynolds and Deadpool 2 actor Josh Brolin reprising their roles.
The X-Force is a team of superhero characters that exist in the same world as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Patrick Stewart’s Professor X. The team is featured in marketing for Deadpool 2 and features the foul-mouthed mercenary Deadpool (Reynolds), time-traveling cyber soldier Cable (Brolin), the luck altering Domino (Zazie Beets), electromagnetic field projector Bedlam (Terry Crews), shockwave sender Shatterstar (Lewis Tan), acid spitter Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgård) and joe schmoe Peter (Rob Delaney). All of those characters are now on the cards for an X-Force movie.
Deadpool 2, the 12th X-Men movie in the franchise’s 18 year history, begins hitting theaters on May 15, according to IMDb.
