Saw X is a film which comes directed by Kevin Greutert who some may know as the director of Saw VI (2009). This film stars Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand and Renata Vaca.
According to IMDB the synopsis of the film is as follows “A sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable.”
The Saw movies are quite well-known these days amongst horror movie fans. This franchise is one of the biggest horror franchises in recent years. Even with so many films released inside of it, it doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of getting old. Audiences seem to really love this type of content.
The Saw series has always been something I have found to be a bit confronting. The amount of gore in there is high and it’s definitely not for people who can’t handle seeing people getting ripped apart. I find these movies a bit difficult to watch as I sit there trying to eat my cinema snacks whilst all this gore is going on. But it’s what these types of films are known for and it delivers on the expected gore amount every time. People are going to see Saw movies for an uncomfortable, scary experience at the cinema and Saw X delivers that.
The actors in this film are decent. For a horror movie, there’s a lot put into developing the John Kramer character and Tobin Bell does a fine job in the role. The other actors I find are the usual disposable horror movie types, but they are good enough to not be bad.
Overall Saw X is a movie that will certainly attract and entertain people who are fans of the Saw franchise. For newcomers, the level of gore might be a bit shocking to see on the big screen. But it is a horror film that has this as the key promise and I think delivers what audiences might be looking for.
