“…up next on “The Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator” Network”. We teach you about the latest Sims 4 Game Pack, and how to start a career in Interior Design!
If you live and breathe Home Reno shows like “The Block”, or if you’ve played “House Flipper” then you might be very interested in “The Sims 4 Dream Home Designer” Game Pack. New objects, build and buy mode — Create a Sim outfits and hairstyles and a new catalogue of “Mid Century Modern” and “Scandinavian” Style furnishings — it’s like a trip to IKEA in a game!
What’s New?
Adding to the already extensive lists of careers in The Sims 4, our Sims are now able to become a Freelance Interior Designer. The best part? You can decorate (or destroy) the clients houses as you seem fit. Then, they will tell you whether they life it, ad whether you get paid.
To get started as an Interior Designer, you will need to select the new career option from the phone or computer. Head to the Careers tab to choose your first “gig”. There are different gigs available and range from single rooms, specific rooms, or complete level renovations.
Use your skills of deduction to establish what the client wants from their renovation. This is as easy as talking to the sim with the new social interactions, such as “Discuss Themes” and they will disclose their preferences with the new Likes/Dislikes integration (now available when you update your game). After documenting the changes with before and after photos, and completing the task — If the client is happy with the results, then you will be paid, promoted or recommended to other potential clients.
If all of this seems a bit tedious, then — we might be on the same page. I was excited to hear of new “gameplay” but when the game play is just regurgitated from previous packs, and then making me build… It doesn’t quite fill the need.
In saying all of this; the content in this pack is amazing. Even if you were to disregard the Interior Design career altogether — I would still be happy to receive the content that this Game Pack delivers. With Scandinavian style, modular items, new separate cookware and everything in neutral, earthy tones, — the new content is super holistic. The new modular couches and wall units are particularly exciting. With many different variations per item, you can open up the item “settings” to create your own unique sets. The modular wall units are particularly fascinating as we can also create tailored “wardrobe” units. Boxes and baskets, shoes and clothing — there’s a heap of accessories to clutter your sims houses up.
The Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator is available now from Origin and required The Sims 4 base game to play.
