Bad Boys For Life is a film which comes directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The film stars Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Alexander Ludwig and Vanessa Hudgens. It is the third film in the Bad Boys franchise. It has however been some time since we saw the last film on the big screen with Bad Boys 2 releasing back in 2003.
The Bad Boys film were always one of those movies that growing up I always saw on TV. They were repeated often and I watched them many times. I don’t see them on TV too much lately, but well, I don’t really watch too much TV these days with most of what I see being streamed. But when hearing about a third film being released in this series, it actually surprised me a little. Not that I didn’t want it to be happening or anything, but I kind of forgot about the Bad Boys movies.
There is some appeal to this third film, not only do we get both Will Smith and Martin Lawrence back again. But we also get to see a fairly solid cast join them including both Alexander Ludwig and Vanessa Hudgens. In watching the film I thought it was quite good and I do know that Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are the leads, but I would have liked a little more screen time for many of the other characters in the film. I barely got to know them, even though they all seemed very interesting. Overall though all the actors were quite a bit of fun and there’s a lot of entertainment value there.
The action component of this film is what a lot of people are going to be in there to see. For me it was actually fairly decent with a lot of gun battles and occasional car chase scenes. The film has a light tone to it and the action matches this fairly well, although some scenes can be maybe a little too violent and it did surprise me at certain times.
Bad Boys For Life comes across to me as a film that you watch one night just to relax and take your mind off of things. The film’s tone is light, the actors are all enjoyable, there’s jokes all throughout it and the action is there to keep things exciting. I had a good time with this film at the cinema last week and I think that for fans of the first two Bad Boys films or for any fans of any of the actors in the cast, they’ll likely have a good time with this one. I’m happy to recommend seeing it at the cinema this weekend.
