Blu-ray Releases 8/11/13 – 8/17/13

This week on Blu-ray: Australia nets three new releases while America gets two. Who has the better titles though? Let’s find out!

AUSTRALIA RELEASES

G.I. Joe: Retaliation comes to Blu-ray this week. The Bruce Willis and The Rock action film had a $130 million budget and made $371.9 million worldwide making the film a box office success. Two different Blu-rays are available: one with a 3D copy and one without but both versions come with a DVD. We reviewed G.I. Joe: Retaliation and you can check out that full review right here.

Scary Movie 5 comes to Blu-ray this week. The Charlie Sheen comedy had a $20 million budget and made $76.7 million worldwide making the film a box office success. The Blu-ray comes with an Ultraviolet copy.

Warm Bodies comes to Blu-ray. The Nicholas Hoult drama had a budget of $35 million and made $116.9 million worldwide when it was released earlier this year. The Blu-ray doesn’t appear to come with any other copies. You can read a review for Warm Bodies right here.

AMERICA RELEASES

The Big Wedding comes to Blu-ray this week. The star-studded comedy had a budget of $35 million and made $21.8 million domestically making the film a box office failure. The Blu-ray doesn’t appear to come with any other copies.

Olympus Has Fallen comes to Blu-ray this week. The Morgan Freeman thriller had a $70 million budget and made $161 million worldwide making the film a box office success. The Blu-ray comes with a DVD and Ultraviolet copy.

The Rotten Tomatoes average of Australia is a Rotten 38% while America has a Rotten 28% making Australia the “winner.” The highest rated movie was Warm Bodies with an 81% and the lowest was Scary Movie 5 with a 4%.
